Welcome and General Sessions

  • An Update on the Bank M&A Landscape: Olsen Palmer Managing Partner Christopher Olsen will share proprietary perspectives on the bank M&A market, deal activity, pricing and valuation, deal drivers, key trends, best practices, and the outlook going forward. 
  • Bank CEO Panel: We’ll hear from several bank CEOs of various sizes, including Tom Broughton from ServisFirst Bank and Abby Wendel from Landmark National Bank, on which challenges and opportunities are top of mind.
  • Legal and Regulatory Update: A panel of industry-leading legal experts—including Mark Kanaly of Alston & Bird, Jacque Kruppa of Bradley, and Rob Fleetwood of Barack Ferrazzano—will discuss changes in the regulatory environment and how they are impacting banking and M&A. 
  • Midterm Elections Outlook: The National Journal’s Kirk Bado will provide an overview of the midterm elections and what various outcomes could mean for banking and for bank M&A.

  • Investor Perspective: An engaging discussion with eminent bank investor Anton Schutz from Mendon Capital spanning drivers of shareholder value, capital allocation, M&A, de novo activity, regulatory changes, fintech/non-banks, investor activism, private credit, and asset quality.
  • The M&A Process: A deep dive on the bank M&A transaction process, including key steps, timing, process options, advance planning steps and recommendations, and best practices.
  • M&A Master Class: A moderated session with a seasoned acquirer and a recent seller will provide an M&A master class on a variety of topics, including pricing and valuation, transaction execution, and best practices. 
  • How to Value a Bank: Olsen Palmer leadership provides guidance on how buyers determine price and what factors increase value.

Fireside Chat Over Lunch: Dan Rollins, Vice Chairman of the Board of Huntington Bancshares and previously CEO of Cadence Bank, shares lessons learned from across the M&A spectrum as a seasoned acquirer, MOE counterparty, and now as a seller.
